My first suggestion is to upgrade Word 2003 to service pack 3. There
are two versions of Word that crash when doing things with SILAS. If I
remember correctly, Word XP (ie. Word 2002, version 10) crashes at the
Attach SILAS stage, and there is at least one point where Word 2003
(ie. version 11) crashes.
Both of these problems are fixed by updating Word to the latest patch
level, Service Pack 3 in both cases. Both these updates are large
downloads, so it's handy if support people carry them along on field
trips.
If that upgrade doesn't solve the problem, please open the START menu
and go to the SILAS group and open the problem-reporting text file,
answer the questions and mail it to Kim and me. You can also email us
the RTF file that causes the problem.
