Today i was checking the Forums and i found a post which is regarding
the Thursday meetings. The Post is from Harinderpal veerji and i
totally agree with that, we have lot of things to learn form them, and
i want to add 2-3 points to that.
1. It is not possible to find out a time which is flexible for all the
sangat. Some people cannot come on Sundays and some cannot come on
Thursday. In my case i can come at any time but we have to take that
sangat in account also which cannot come on sundays due to work. The
only possible solution which i can see is that we can have the meeting
on both the days(sundays and thursdays) to discuss the agenda for the
next week. it takes hardly 15 to 20 minutes, if we stick to agenda
only.
2. On thursday we try to finish the meeting in 15-20 mins max in which
we talk about the next weeks sewa only. I took the responsibility to
gather all the sangat for the meeting on thursday and if we want
regular meetings on Sundays too than someone has to take the
responsibility to gather all the sangat for the meeting on Sunday.
I am sorry if i hurt someone, bhull chukk maaf karni. and do reply

Guroo Pyaareo,
I don't believe that all the active participants of youth darbar are
attending Thursday late night meetings. If you want I can give you the
names of participants who have been attending our diwaan regularly but
can't afford to sit that long on thursday nights.
The main reason for them not atending these meetings is that they are
all married & have little kids, most of them want to get up early in
the monring (for Amrit Vela) and have to leave early for their work.
So if you expect them to sit until 11 PM for the meeting, it will be
midnight by the time they will be able to go to their beds. How can
you do Amrit Vela sambaal if you go to bed around 12 AM or so, you
need good night's sleep to get up at Amrit vela and start your work?
We used to have our meetings on Sundays from 11- 11:30/12 or so, if
you guys want to do langar sewaa you can pick some other time for
this, or switch the meeting time on Sundays to 10- 10:30... this way
you can do your langar sewaa also.
There are so many good things which we want to share/discuss with all
of you but we are not able to sit and talk because we don't have a
consensus on our meeting time. If you guys want to get every body's
input or get some valuable suggestions from Sangat members who have
more experience than you then you need to be little flexible and
cooperative. Otherwise people will think these guys just come and do
their own meetings at some odd time and make decisions for the
upcoming diwaans on their own.
Please don't take it personally, believe me ever since I have taken
Amrit and started coming into Sangat this has been my desire that all
Gursikhs veer/bhainaa should be on the same platform and there should
be no differences at all. I have tried to do this when I was in Sikh
students federation during my University time; and have been trying to
adopt the same approach where I go and join the Sangat!
I hope you all will understand this and we will have a consensus on
our meeting time. Smile
