PRESS INFORMATION BUREAU (DEFENCE WING)GOVERNMENT OF INDIAEX-SERVICEMEN SAHAYTA KENDRASChandigarh: 30 Pausha 1935Monday, 20January 2014Army treats the Ex-servicemen as an extended family and their welfare is a key issue for the Army. After retirement, the Ex-servicemen are faced with a number of problems which need early resolution. Most of these problems pertain to pension, medical facilities, re-employment and post retirement documentation. The solution for such problems lie with resolving agencies like Banks and Records offices with whom the Ex-servicemen have to approach directly in their individual capacity.To help the Ex-servicemen in resolution of their problems Headquarters Western Command has taken an innovative initiative to establish a “Help System” which will act as an interface between the Ex-servicemen and the various resolving agencies. The Help System consists of an “Ex-Servicemen Sahayta Regional Centre” located at Headquarters Western Command and “Ex-Servicemen Sahayta Kendras” located at important locations in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir. Ex-servicemen can register their complaints with the Ex-Servicemen Sahayta Kendras on Toll Free telephone, through email or by visiting the Sahayta Kendras. These requests will be processed by the Sahayta Kendras expeditiously with the resolving agencies and result intimated to the Ex-servicemen.
