State of :Col Harwant Singh MC

[Col Karaminder Singh]

Dear Sir,

I had the opportunity to visit our grand old veteran Col Harwant Singh, MC on 20 July.

I had learnt that he is not in a good state.

Col Harwant Singh is now on borrowed time and can breathe his last at any time. 

Col Harwant as we know has been all his life a die hard SIKH soldier and has many firsts to his credit.

We need to be prepared to get the news at any time.  His son Col  Devinder Singh has requested me to convey this to all concerned, which I am now doing so. 

We also discussed to inform those who matter regarding this. We also discussed the arrangements to be made for his funeral and military last rights of a decorated soldier. 

The following has since been informed.

1. Local station HQ.

2. GOC I Armd Div

3. British Embassy 

We would like this message to be conveyed also to, SRC and to Col Of Sikh Regt.

Any suggestions regarding this are welcome and can be conveyed.
