| Upcoming Programs at the Center |
(Dates Dependant on the sighting of the moon for the month of Shaban)
Tuesday, July 20th, 2009 / Rajab 28, 1430 (Day)
Namaz-e-Mayyat, for Marhum Akber Khakoo, at 9.00am. Thereafter, members can proceed to Rosehill Cemetery in New Jersey for the burial ceremony.
Thursday, July 23rd, 2009 / Shaban 2, 1430 (Eve)
The program will start at 8:15 pm with Surah Yasin, Namaaz, Dua Kumail, Majlis and will conclude with Ziyarat-e-Waritha.
Friday, July 24th, 2009 / Shaban 2nd, 1430 (Day)
Namaz-e-Juma will begin at 1 pm.
Saturday, July 25th, 2009 / Shaban 4th, 1430 (Eve)
We shall celebrate the wiladat of our 3rd Imam, 4th Imam and Hazarat Abbas (a.s.). The program will begin at 6:15 pm, with Surah Yasin, Hadith-e-Kisa, majlis, maulud, Ziyarat, Nyaz and we shall end with Namaz
Sunday, July 26th, 2009 / Shaban 4th, 1430 (Day)
Majlis at Rosehill Cemetery at 8 am.

| Recommended Fast for Monday, 27th of Rajab 1430. |

Imam Ali Al-Naqi Al-Hadi AS has, as reported in Biharul Anwar of Allamah Muhammad Baqir Majlisi (Ridhwanullahi Alayhi), said that there are four days that are highly recommended to fast:
i. 17th Rabi'ul Awwal: The Day of Wiladah of The Prophet SAWW
ii. 27th Rajab-ul-Murajjab: The Day of Bi'that/Mi'raj of The Prophet SAWW
iii. 25th Dhul Q'adartil Haraam: Day of Dahwul Ardh
iv. 18th Dhil Hijjah: Day of Ghadeer Al-Khum.

| Namaz-e-Ayaat: Important Clarification |
|
The World Federation recently announced a clarification of a ruling from Ayatullah al-Uzma Syed Sistani, in the book "Islamic Laws" for ruling number 1517.

| Maintenance Update |
|
Enclosed is a list of maintenance related activites that recently took place at the center:
1. The shed was thoroughly cleaned by our Mukhis.
2. The NYC Department of Environmental Protection has fixed the fire hydrant outside the
ladies section. Br.Ebrahim Jaffer was kind enough to assist us with this cause by writing a
letter to the department on our behalf.
3. All old TVs located in the jamaat office upstairs are being disposed off to charity/junk with
the help of certain individuals under supervision of our maintenance sub-committee.
4. A fumigation company has been employed by the management. (no need to add details
here).
The management committee would like to sincerely express their gratitude to all individuals involved in the various maintenance activities at the center for their assistance. May Allah (S.W.T) reward them abundantly.

| Home Affordable Refinance Program |

The Home Affordable Refinance Program, setup by the US Government, will now accept applications if you are up to 25% under water on your mortgage; that's up from the previous limit of 5% under water that the Government had set when they launched the program. Home Affordable works, if you have a mortgage that is either backed or held by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac, and you are still on-time with the payments, you may be able to refinance into a low-rate mortgage to help you stay in the home
