SIJNY Programs Update

Volume 1, Issue 9    06/28/2009

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009/ Rajab 10th, 1430

There will be the shurwate shaadi majlis of  Shabber, son of Haiderali & Layla Ladha Dinani, and Asiya, Daughter of Mohamed Jawad & Kanize Fatima Khaki. The program will start at 8:30 pm with  Surah Yasin, followed by Namaaz. This will then be followed Dua­Kumail, Majlis, and Ziyarat Waritha.

Friday, July 3rd, 2009/ Rajab 10th, 1430  (day)

Jumaa Namaaz will commence at 1 PM

Saturday, July 4th, 2009/ Rajab 12th, 1430

We shall be celebrating the wiladat our 1st, 5th, 7th and 9th Imams. The program will begin at 6:15 PM, with Surah Yasin, Hadith-e-Kisa, Maulud, Ziyarat, Nyaz and we shall end with Namaz. There will also be a brief speech by WF Presidential Candidate, Br. Ashiq Rashid. Members, are kindly asked to donate gener­ously towards the Nyaz fund for the occasion.

Sunday, July 5th, 2009/ Rajab 12th, 1430  (day)

Majlis at Rosehill Cemetery at 8 AM. 

The SIJNY Medical Sub Committee, led by Br. Ebrahim Issa, organized the first ever Adult / Child  CPR course at the  center, this past Saturday, June 27th. With more then 25 individuals getting certified, including our WF Vice President, Br. Gulam Dinani, the program was a huge success. Topics covered included, Heimlich Maneuver, chest com­pression, use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and choking. 

The program also includes a two-year certification from the American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI). 

 

The committee would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all those who attended and for making this program a success.

NASIMCO Conference and Elections were held on June 25th, 2009  in Minneapolis, MN. Various Jamaats in North America including our President, Br. Arif Jacksi and our Jt.Treasurer, Br. Mohamed Hassan Alloo were in attendance.  Other New Yorkers included our WF Vice President, Br. Gulam Dinani, Br. Sadique Jaffer and Br. Hussein Ismail. The theme of the conference was "Meeting the Challenges of Recession".

SIJNY is pleased to announce the election of Br. Arif Jacksi and Br. Hussein Ismail as Executive Councilors and Br. Sadiq Jaffer as the Constituent Councilor for Tier 2 Jamaats.
