This is an issue in V-Ray Next. I have already reported it to Chaos Group and they are working on a fix: -ray-for-sketchup-forums/v-ray-for-sketchup-bugs/1030780-materials-invisible-when-using-skatter-s-render-only-feature

V-Ray NEXT for 3ds Max will be out soon. Grohs estimates that the new rendering engine will be rolled out to Rhino, SketchUp, Revit and others by the end of the year.
