Dear SigVerse community,

During the installation of the SigViewer I faced some problems. My PC
configuration was: the main OS was Ubuntu 12.04-32 bits and I was
running the virtual machine with windows 7-32bits. Using that
configuration, the SigServer worked perfect, but the SigViewer did not
work, because some missing libraries. After installing the .exe file, I
got the following error: "The program can't start because MSVCR71.dll is
missing", please see attached document.

In order to solve that error we download the missing .dll file and
copied it into the folder: /Windows/SysWOW64

Then, we had the next error: "OGRE EXCEPTION ...", please see attached
document named windows32_bit_problem1.png
and after that we had the error: "Runtime Error! ....", see attached
file named windows32_bit_problem2.png

The above errors are due to the fact that the SigViewer binaries are for
Windows 64 bits! Then, the solution was to re-install windows now 64 bits.

Even with the above modifications we face the same problems. This means
that the Configuration of my PC was wrong. This is the correct one:
1) Install Windows 7 64 bits as MAIN OS of your PC
2) Install a virtual machine and run the Ubuntu 12.04 64 bits!

I will suggest to add this configuration at the beginning of the wiki,
before installing anything, please :) !

Under the above configuration, the server and client worked just fine!

Regards,
Karinne

Hi all,

For the virtual machine I decided to use the sw "virtualbox" and we
need to configure the network so that the connection between the client
and server is possible in the same machine. Here are the steps that we
followed:

1) Select from the "VirtualBox Manager", the option -Details-
2) Then, select the "Network" option
3) From the tag -Adapter1- click on the "Advanced" option
4) Look for the option "Attached to:" and choose Bridged adapter
5) save the configuration and start the ubuntu machine.

An easy way to test if this configuration was successful, is to ping the
IP address from the client machine to the server machine and the other
way arround.

Then, run the server on the ubuntu machine and the client on the windows
machine. To connect them, you have to do the following:
1) On the ubuntu machine type: $ ifconfig <- to get the IP address of
the PC
2) on the client window, type the IP from the Linux machine (where the
server is running)
3) Select the Port or World number (This you get from the screen of the
server)
4) Click on "Connect"

This step is missing from the tutorial and in my opinion is not trivial
;) I will like to suggest to add this steps into the -test- tutorial,
please :p

Thanks and best regards,
Karinne

Dear Karinne,

Thank you for the bug report.
The installer of the SIGViewer has some problems for the 32bits
Windows machines and for the MSVCR71.dll setting.

The SIGVerse developer team will fix the problem in the next release.

Thank you for your cooperation and using the SIGVerse!
Some tutorials have been updated.

Best regards,
