We're pleased to announce the results of the elections for SIGSLAV officers:
* Chair:
Tomaž Erjavec (Jožef Stefan Institute, Slovenia)
* Vice Chair:
Roman Yangarber (University of Helsinki, Finland)
* Secretary:
Preslav Nakov (Qatar Computing Research Institute, Qatar)
* Resource Managers
Lidia Pivovarova (University of Helsinki / St Petersburg State
University, Finland)
Josef Steinberger (University of West Bohemia, Czech Republic)
Some general statistics:
* Voters: 53
* Members: 110
* Voter turnout: 48.2%
The votes were tallied across the languages, as prescribed by our
Constitution. Overall, 10 out of 13 (76.9%) SIGSLAV languages were
covered in the elections (absent were Belorussian, Bosnian, and
Montenegrin).
We congratulate the newly elected SIGSLAV officers, and thank everybody
for their participation and patience!
The newly-elected officers will start their service on 1 March 2018. The
outgoing officers will serve for three additional months to help smooth
the transition.
