SIGSLAV Elections -- First call for nominations

Dear SIGSLAV members,

This is a reminder of ACL SIGSLAV, the Special Interest Group on Slavic
Natural Language Processing. For a review of our recent activities,
including the 6th Workshop on Balto-Slavic Natural Language Processing
(BSNLP 2017) collocated with EACL 2017, please visit

The current officers of SIGSLAV are:

* Chair:

* Vice-Chair:
  Roman Yangarber, University of Helsinki, Finland
* Secretary:
  Jan Šnajder, University of Zagreb, Croatia
* Resource Manager:
  Lidia Pivovarova, University of Helsinki, Finland
* Resource Managers:
  Hristo Tanev, Joint Research Center, European Commission

According to our constitution, we need to re-elect the officers.
This message is a call for such nominations.

If there is someone you wish to nominate, and they wish to be nominated,
and you also have a seconder for the nomination, please send an email to
sig...@gmail.com with the name and email for the nominee, proposer, and
seconder. The nominations remain open until Thursday, 29 June 2017.

SIGSLAV is a SIG of the ACL. All nominees, proposers, and seconders
must be current ACL members.

* 29 May -- 1st call for nominations
* 13 June -- 2nd call for nominations
* 29 June -- Nominations close
* 29 August -- Voting commences
* 2 October -- Voting ends
* 16 October -- Announcement of the elected officers
* 1 Nov -- Elected officers start their service
