Hi everyone !

Last year, Sigmah project had its first external evaluation. Several propositions were made to improve the sustainability of the project, and one of them was to replace Groupe URD as in its central role of project facilitator. Groupe URD being a non-profit humanitarian research institude, managing such a big IT project as Sigmah was becoming more and more out of its core business. More about this evaluation can be found here.

And finally, we found a solution to this issue ! Sigmah is now merging with TolaData, another open-source app targeting the same set of needs than Sigmah. It is a great positive news for humanitarian FOSS movement !

Merging two apps doing rather similar services naturally mean that only one will be ketpt, in order to avoid duplication of efforts. And looking at the TolaData demo available online will quickly show you that for the benefit of our users, keeping TolaData as software product is more meaningful than keeping Sigmah. As humanitarian software developers, we serve first our users and not the tool we have all invested so much sweat to push forward.

If you want to have more information about this merge, you can read this news : http://www.sigmah.org/Sigmah-merges-with-TolaData.html

And we have a second good news. After this first good news on the merger for the humanitarian sector and humanitarian FOSS movement, we have a good news for all Sigmah contributors... We can offer a Sigmah T-shirt to anyone who had ever published a Pull Request for Sigmah codebase !
Sigmah being Sigmah, those T-shirts are of course made out of organic fair-trade cotton, and produced with a carbon neutrality policy. :)
So, for anyone of you who wish to have a T-shirt and has ever just published even a single Pull Request, please fill in this form to have your T-shirt shipped at home : https://framaforms.org/sigmah-t-shirt-1531229666

I hope you'll enjoy it. :)
