  • Complete "Fran" under 3:00
  • Complete "Kelly" under 22:00
  • Complete "Amanda" under 6:00
  • Snatch 205#
  • Back squat 350#
  • Overhead squat 225#
  • Use the foam roller &/or lacrosse ball everyday for self-myofascial release
  • Be more strict with the Paleo diet (even after January), only 1 - 3 cheat meals per week.
  • Be more patient with PRs & focus on being more consistent. Hitting PRs are great, but if that PR is achieved through cheating a movement it doesn't mean anything. Full range of motion every time. Or if that PR will cause diminished performance during the rest of the week, it's not worth it & will increase risk of injury. Be patient & consistent with training regularly & the PRs will come without even thinking about it.

My goals for this year, in no particular order:

  • Become more efficient in the butterfly kip
  • Improve overhead squat to at least 110# (currently at 80#)
  • Do ring dips as Rx'd
  • Improve Fran time (of course) to sub 6:30 (currently at 8:50 Rx'd)
  • Improve endurance when running. I hate running so I run fast and then burnout. I need to learn to pace myself so I can run the whole distance.

Improving your overhead squat is a very good goal... That will also make you better on your back squat, front squat, thruster, & snatch. I'm going to need to revise my goals to include that too... Good goals, Nicole!

Dang Abel!  That's a big list... But you can do it!!

Mine:

Learn to kip on toes to bar so toes touch bar.
Get more efficient at double unders.
Have a no-band assisted pull up.
Practice and get better at strict push ups.
Get ONE hand stand push up, lol
To do more than 50% of WODs as Rx'd

AND to improve and get a PR on all my previous WODs and weight lifts!

It's almost a year since I wrote this, and I just wanted to reflect on some the goals I set out for myself. I learned so much this past year, and have grown more as an individual. I missed my mark on most of these, but I think that's ok. I was a bit ambitious with mostly everything I set out to do and gave me a nice target. I hit a few of my lifting goals, and have decided to add more to this list, since our CrossFit skills keep expanding. Thanks Ted for pushing me to identify weaknesses and challenging me to work through those. All in all, this past year has been good to me, and I look forward to what's in store this year.
