My concern is with famous in their field reviewers we keep re-inviting
who either just do fast reviews, quick judgments because they are
busy or are late - Maybe they find simple reviewing beyond their
dignity (does happen when you work for regular industry and nobody
care about your academic involvement .. disclaimer my current employer
is *not* like this:-)
Seriously, we give a lot of credit to their short reviews (because of
their experience) and forgive them but maybe we shouldn't ? If there
was an automated mean for the reviewing tool to yell when reviewers
are too short maybe they would be encouraged to behave (note - I
recommend encouraging rather than forcing like when we miss a field,
in some cases short reviews are absolutely fine)

Although I definitely assign reviewers by my feeling of their
knowledge, I don't give reviews credit because of the reviewer. If a
senior individual can't give constructive reviews, I don't think the
authors will find it helpful, and since the review is blind they won't
know that Dr. Marvelous is the one rejecting their paper, so there is
no glow to bask in.
