so i searched the internet for it and found that it was like a predecessor to CA-42 and it does the same thing CA-42 does. So i downloaded the drivers for PL2303 and when connected, my PC shows 'Prolific USB to Serial device' connected. i checked in the device manager and it was there and was assigned COM1. I changed the communications port to COM1 to make my nokia cable a communication port (i have to make COM4 the communication port when i use a serial port) shown here-
Now I cut the cable near the phone connector end and found the TX, RX and the ground wires. So it is now like my half arduino cable (I know two more wires are missing in it but i don't need them). I found this article- with which one could program picaxe with arduino cable. So i made that HEX inverter circuit and double checked all the connections, started picaxe program editor and selected COM1 in the ports setting.
I tried everything possible at my level- checking all the connections,TX,RX and ground wires of the cable etc but nothing good. I am thinking the problem is with the cable being not supported by picaxe program editor, or maybe i am doing something wrong Please help me getting the cable working!
I finnaly got it working! I think the problem was in drivers as when i downloaded and installed the drivers for the original picaxe USB to serial hub from picaxe website and somehow it started working! here is how it looks like-
I have a Nokia G-2425G-A provided by my ISP(Airtel) which is ONT+Wireless Router. The stock firmware provided with it is not good(in terms of features and options... for eg: No OpenVPN support) and also the settings like PPPoE configuration are locked and SSH access to the filesystem is not supported...
The SSH access to the linux filesystem was blocked but I managed to gain SSH root access by doing a config hack ( -nokia-g240wa.html) . So I can get the required info(even files) for building the firmware for it via SSH. The stock firmware use Linux 3.18.21(via SSH)

The model name at fccid is same but somethings like the number of USB and POTS ports, ram and flash storage info differ from the User manual and photos (user manual says there are 2 USB and POTS port but mine has only 1 port each)

At that same time, the need for multi vendor automation exists in all markets for all the network operating systems existing. This need creates something called NAPALM Automation Community Drivers. So, what is that?
Nokia SR OS, which is not part of those 5 core network operating systems, are widely used in Service Provider networks worldwide, with being the most popular in some segments (e.g., IP/MPLS Edge Routers). Clearly there is a need to automate it. And Nokia folks has delivered the NAPALM Automation Community Driver for Nokia SR OS.
From NAPALM perspective, there are no limitations in terms of particular protocol usage between the host with Python/NAPLAM and the network device in question. As long as the driver accepts in a standard format necessary variables and instructions as an input (NAPALM functions, e.g. get_interfaces()) and provides back the proper response (meaning, containing all the relevant keys and variables in a desired format), it can be qualified as NAPALM.
As there is no specific transport requirements, Nokia chose NETCONF to collect the data in a structured format with follow up processing to map it to NAPALM dictionaries. The NETCONF calls use Nokia-native YANG modules to query the relevant data; therefore, in theory that could have existed before OpenConfig. However, Nokia published finally YANG modules only in 2019 and encouraged people to start using NETCONF for Nokia SR OS automation in the same year, whereas support of OpenConfig was added in 2018. Looking in the commit history of NAPALM Automation Community Driver for Nokia SR OS, the module was published in October 2019, almost at the same time when Nokia YANG modules appeared in the GitHub as well.
Ultimately, it means that support of OpenConfig YANG modules over NETCONF and NAPALM, which in case of Nokia SR OS relies on NETCONF/YANG with Nokia-native YANG modules, became available for a wide audience approximately at the same time. Yet the possibility to use OpenConfig with NETCONF existed since 2018.
This package contains drivers for the Nokia 6100 LCD. The driver has only beentested with the new Epson unit from SparkFun (Chinese clone, red tab onprotective cover, green PCB with brown traces). It should work with thePhilips or the older Epson chips too but will inevitably need some fixes.The driver has been tested on the ATmega168 and the dsPIC33FJ128GP but has beendesigned to be easy to port to other architectures.
I wrote this because a lot of the other Nokia drivers out there seemed to be abit of a mis-mash and also because none of them seemed to properly support thenew Epson displays. It would be nice to get this working on the old Epsons oron the Philips displays, so if you write something let me know, or if you let meborrow such a display I will get it working.

Finally I stumbled across a Windows port of the libusb driver used by avrdude to communicate with USB programmers. The package came with instructions on how to create the .INF file required by the Windows device manager.
For some reason on my system if I remove the ISP from the hub built in to my computer motherboard and exposed through the front panel of the case and insert it into the hub built in to my monitor then the libusb driver disappears and I have re-install it. Weird.
This looks sensible stuff. My UsbIsp unfortunately is unprogrammed courtesy of HobbyKing who promise to send me one that works. I'll be getting another and using your software. I'm experienced in hardware and software, but last worked in 1990 and so a bit out of date.
i tried your program and at first i thought it was going to work but partway through it threw up an error saying "An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format"
any ideas what it could be?
I currently have a Deco M5 hub plugged into the NTWK port, wifi from the M5 works correctly. I also have a PC plugged into the M5's ethernet port. I would like to plug the PC directly into the ONT, but haven't been able to figure out if any of the 4 Data ports (or other ports) actually provide compatible connectivity.
One of the 4 Data ports (DATA 1) has a green LED, but when I plug the ethernet cable into it, the PC reports no connectivity. I need some help understanding the capabilities of this ONT. I have a modem from Telus but the tech did not connect it for me because I had the Deco M5 units.
940mbps is not 9.4MB/s. The transfer rate should be about 110MB/s if it's at full speed. Using a mesh system could slow the overall transfer speed depending if your PC is plugged into the one connected to the ONT or one of the other M5s.
Put the T3200M on the ONT instead of the M5 and then test your download speeds on your PC when it's connected by ethernet. 8-10MB/s is not fast for Steam downloads. I'm on the same gigabit plan and I get far higher speeds when downloading from Steam or from other sources. If the M5s can be set to act as wireless access points instead of as a router, they can also be connected to the T3200M.
Connecting a PC to the ONT is not a recommended practice as it would expose it directly to the internet. It would also be outside of your home network. The only way to connect two devices to the ONT is with a gigabit switch connected to DATA1 on the ONT. If you need more ports on your home network, attach a gigabit switch to the ethernet port on the Deco M5.
Thanks for the explanation about the ONT. I do not really understand networking, so I don't understand the difference between a switch and a router, or which one the Deco M5 is functioning as, but at least now I understand the function of the ONT! I did have something wrong in my original post--I thought the M5 was plugged into the NTWK port, but it is actually plugged into the DATA4 port, which strangely does not show a green LED, the LED is not lit up at all. (see attached photo).
