Can you conferm the following bug on your pc?

entering this

gconftool -s -t bool /desktop/gnome/peripherals/touchpad/touchpad_enabled false

should disable the touchpad. And the touchpad (and it's buttons) don't
work once the variable is set to false. however, if you touch the
touchpad with TWO fingers, the mouse jumps from one part of the screen
to another (even though the touchpad /should/ be disabled).

Can you confirm this?

It's works here normally, no problems encountered! Even when using all
my fingers!

BTW, wouldnt it be better to ask that on Q8Geeks forum? ... or on OSKw
mailing list? We got some really good linux/FreeBSD geeks over there!

It's not a serious issue. It only manifests itself when I use more
then one finger and tap/move them around randomly. I just wanted to
see if it's a bug in gnome (which I think it is) or only specific to
my hardware. besides, you know my policy for dealing with bugs.

Posting elsewhere: let's face it, we are the only real linux users at
q8geeks. and it's rude to bug a large /general/ mailing list like oskw
with a pathetic issue like this. This mailing list is the perfect
place for this.
