Hello, I have an ASUS PRO5DI notebook which I recently upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 32-bit. Since then, my printing function doesn't work properly, and the scanner does not work at all. I have the HP SmartScan and the HP doctor app ( both didn't work) and I already uninstalled the actual driver.

I tried to install the driver DJ2050_J510_1313-1.exe from here, but it says it only does work up to Windows 7. Can anyone help me (I am from Germany and my mother tongue is German)? I also cannot uninstall the old software from the previous HP CD from when I bought the printer.

Hello Asmita and thanks for your help! Before I asked for help here, I already did have the HP Print & Scan Doctor and I couldn't delete the previous HP installing program (maybe that was why the installing of the driver for Windows 10 didn't work). As your answer took a few days and I didn't know wether or not someone will anyhow answer, I completely resetted my computer with deleting all the data in it.

I have reinstalled both the HP print and scan doctor and the software for Windows 10 32-bit. As I resetted my PC and deleted everything in it, I don't know if it is useful to try these steps you just suggested. Because now, when I try to start a print, no reaction comes from my printer and I only get an error message on the sidebar at my screen.

Edit: @Asmita6685 Now I restarted my computer, and at the beginning, I get another error message on the side bar which says the installation of the software is not finished. When I click on it, it says that I shall put my software CD inside, but the original CD is from 2010 and it does only work up to Windows 7.

Otherwise, when I open the HP print and scan doctor, it says all is fine, but it can't do a test print (the error message comes when I wait a few minutes). When It gets to scanning problems, it says I haven't the actual software for the printer.

For now, I can only print when I open the HP printing software (there I can do the testing prints etc.). When I try to print elsewhere than in the HP printing software, the printer doesn't react and that unknown error message is coming after a few minutes.

Im trying to install Drivers for my Printer Hp Deskjet 2050 j510 so i went to -en/drivers/selfservice/hp-deskjet-2050-all-in-one-printer-series-j510/4027... and downloaded the drivers for it. During the installation it says it failed
After if i click Details i get this error message:

I went to the file path shown in the error message and this is what is their (there was more files but i deleted all of them in an attempt to fix it but only those 2 come back when i attempt to reinstall the drivers.)

I've tried unplugging the usb of my printer for the installation and leaving it in as well as uninstalling the printer completely before installing the drivers. While looking for a solution online I came across this on the hp fourms: -Software-and-Drivers/Installation-failed-Printer-Software-HELP...
It seemed to be the same issue I was having but with a different printer so I followed all the steps the solution provided many times over it still did not work. Any help I will be grateful for thank you.

It seems that Hewlett Packard still does not have a driver for my deskjet 2050 printer that is compatible with MacOS Big Sur. Are there any work-arounds, or do I have to abandon my printer (and never buy a Hewlett-Packard again)?

If the driver listed is not the right version or operating system, search our driver archive for the correct version. Enter HP Deskjet 2050 - J510 into the search box above and then submit. In the results, choose the best match for your PC and operating system.

Once you have downloaded your new driver, you'll need to install it. In Windows, use a built-in utility called Device Manager, which allows you to see all of the devices recognized by your system, and the drivers associated with them.

In Windows 8, swipe up from the bottom, or right-click anywhere on the desktop and choose "All Apps" -> swipe or scroll right and choose "Control Panel" (under Windows System section) -> Hardware and Sound -> Device Manager

HP Deskjet 2050 series drivers are the required drivers your computer needs to work correctly with your HP Deskjet 2050 series printer. Indeed, the driver is responsible for translating meaningful requests to your printer and ensuring you can take advantage of the latest features.

The Deskjet 2050 - J510 series printer from HP is a multi-function home printer that is mostly known for its ability to print high-quality documents very quickly. In order to use this printer with your Windows computer, you may find that you need to download its drivers.
