Dear Members,

I am preparing a paper for LREC 2026 and facing an issue with Arabic text rendering in the official lrec2026 LateX template on Overleaf.

When I compile with pdfLaTeX, Arabic text appears disconnected and right-to-left direction is broken.
Switching to LuaLaTeX renders Arabic correctly, but I’m not sure if using LuaLaTeX is officially supported for submission or if it might cause compatibility issues with the camera-ready format.
Could anyone please confirm whether compiling with LuaLaTeX is acceptable for Arabic content in LREC 2026, or suggest a way to make pdfLaTeX render Arabic correctly within the same template?

Thank you very much for your help and time.

Best Regards,
Shehenaz Hossain

Hello,

You can use the ArabTeX package together with the utf8 option as follows:

\usepackage{arabtex}
\usepackage{utf8}

Then, right after \begin{document}, add:
\setcode{utf8}

To write Arabic text, simply use the following syntax:

\<ذهبت البنت إلى المدرسة>

I hope this helps!

Best regards,
Houda

Good morning everyone,

Will there be a second call for papers for LREC this year? I see on the website that the deadline was on the 17th of October.
Am I missing something?

Thanks!

Regards
Mahmoud

There is a third CFP already. The new deadline is October 24.
