The Institute for Advanced Study in the Global South at Northwestern University in Qatar (#IAS_NUQ) invites applications for its 2026–2027 Global Fellows Program. This residential fellowship is ideal for researchers seeking an interdisciplinary community focused on the histories, cultures, societies, media, and digitalities of the Global South.
Colleagues working on Arabic NLP, digital humanities, language technologies, and related Global South research are especially encouraged to apply. The Institute’s themes—including Arab Media, Culture, and Politics and Southern Digitalities—offer a strong intellectual home for computational and linguistic research centered on Arabic, a key Global South language.
Fellowship Highlights
Spend 1 month to 1 academic term at NU-Q in Doha during Fall 2026 or Spring 2027

Eligibility
Minimum 2 years post-PhD experience
