Dear all,

I hope you are doing well.

We are pleased to announce AISA-ArabicFC: Arabic Function Calling for Agentic AI Systems, an official shared task organized by Tuwaiq Academy as part of ArabicNLP 2026.

AISA-ArabicFC focuses on advancing Arabic tool-use and function-calling capabilities in agentic AI systems. Participants will develop models that can understand Arabic user requests, decide whether a tool call is needed, select the correct function, and extract the required arguments in structured form.

The task covers:

  • 5 Arabic varieties: Modern Standard Arabic, Gulf, Egyptian, Levantine, and Maghrebi
  • 8 real-world domains: healthcare, banking, government services, Islamic services, travel, weather, e-commerce, and utilities
  • 27 structured tools
  • Three tracks: core function calling, reasoning-augmented calling, and cross-dialect robustness analysis
  • Cash prizes for the top-performing teams

The shared task website, registration, data, and leaderboard are available here:

The task aims to encourage the development of Arabic-native models that can move beyond text generation toward reliable action: understanding user intent, selecting the right tool, and producing structured function calls across Arabic dialects and real-world domains.
