Dear all

We wanted to share an exclusive look at our latest work in progress here at Kalmasoft! We are currently upgrading our systems to officially adopt the LMF (Lexical Markup Framework) ISO standard (ISO 24613) across our linguistic dictionary and morphological databases.

As Arabic Natural Language Processing scales globally, standardized interoperability is critical. Traditional inflectional structures heavily limit downstream applications. By implementing the LMF framework, our ongoing development aims to bridge the gap between intricate Arabic morphology and unified, enterprise-grade NLP infrastructure.

🌟 What this means for researchers and developers:
  • True Interoperability: Seamlessly integrate comprehensive Arabic lexical data into standardized global machine-reading systems.
  • Beyond Abstract Roots: Access authentic, "real-world" derivational surface forms actively used in contemporary literature.
  • Ready for Downstream Tasks: Optimally mapped for Tokenization, Stemming, and Part-of-Speech (POS) tagging engines.

Our core morphological database, Aramolex (housing over 200 million filtered entries), is actively being transitioned into the standardized LMF model format. You can follow our progress and test early schemas below:

We invite computational linguists, developers, and researchers to check out this ongoing work and see how this standard simplifies rich morphological tracking. We would love to hear your feedback on your integration experiences as we finalize this transition!
