Hello,

I am looking for recommendations for transcription software that can accurately transcribe audio recordings in Lebanese and Syrian Arabic into text. These recordings are research interviews, so maintaining participant confidentiality is essential.

I would also appreciate any guidance on how to ensure the privacy and security of the interview data with AI-driven transcription software, . Specifically, are there tools that offer strong data protection or can be used in a way that complies with research confidentiality requirements?

Thank you in advance for your recommendations and any advice you can provide.

Best,

Hi,

You can try using offline models via: https://github.com/mkiol/dsnote (works with Flatpak)

It does offer Arabic transcription but I haven't checked for dialects.

As long as you use an offline model, the data will stay on your system.

Shukran,

Agreed; cohere-transcribe is SOTA in my testing.
