Looking for Multilingual Proverbs Datasets

Hi all,

I’m looking for datasets of proverbs in any language, similar to the Jawaher dataset (https://arxiv.org/pdf/2503.00231v1), but ideally in mid- or low-resource languages.

If you’re aware of any relevant datasets, papers, or resources, I’d really appreciate it.

Interesting challenge! Is this still something you're exploring? If you are, and you haven't been able to find any suitable datasets yet, then I may be able to help.

Of course, would just love to learn about your specific requirements -- things like dataset size, which low-/mid-resource languages/dialects you'd like etc. :) 

I'll make sure I understand your brief right, and then can source the data, send you samples, before I upload the entire dataset to Huggingface for everyone's benefit. Let me know if this sounds interesting!
