Seeking PhD opportunities and supervision in Arabic NLP

Dear all,

My name is Noura Ogbi. I recently completed a Master of Science in Big Data Analytics at Al Akhawayn University (Morocco), where my thesis, supervised by Prof. Violetta Cavalli-Sforza, focused on Arabic natural language processing.

My work developed a retrieval-augmented generation system for proficiency-aligned Arabic reading assessment, combining Arabic readability classification, dense retrieval over a corpus built from BAREC and web-scraped MSA text, ACTFL-oriented prompting, and LLM-based generation of reading passages and comprehension items, with a structured expert evaluation.

I am now looking to pursue a PhD in Arabic NLP, with research interests in retrieval-augmented and controllable generation, evaluation of LLM-generated content, and Arabic readability. I would be grateful to hear of any doctoral opportunities or possible supervision arrangements, including international ones, that members of the community may be aware of, or to connect with anyone open to discussing potential directions.
