Call for Chapter Proposals – Community-Engaged Approaches to Teacher Education

Zhongfeng Tian, Jennifer Burton and I are excited to share our Call for Chapter Proposals for an upcoming edited volume. 

Book title: Community-Engaged Approaches to Teacher Education (under consideration by Routledge). 

Editors: Laxmi Prasad Ojha (Saginaw Valley State University, USA),  Zhongfeng Tian (Rutgers University–Newark, USA), Jennifer Burton (Concordia University, Canada) 

Description: This volume will explore how teacher education programs around the world are engaging with communities as they prepare future teachers. We invite chapters that document innovative practices, partnerships, and models that connect coursework and field experiences to community knowledge, values, and participation. 

Proposal Deadline: December 15, 2025
