Dear Members of the SIG,
I’m very pleased to announce that several members of the SIG, including myself (Professor Kevin Tai),
Professor Li Wei, Professor Andy Gao, Professor George Jiang, and
Professor Fan Fang have been recognized as the World’s Top 2% most-cited scientists in the field of Languages and Linguistics, according to Stanford University’s List of the World’s Top 2% Scientists 2025 (Single-Year Impact)!
The Elsevier Data Repository has published a database of top-cited scientists that assesses the global influence of scientists in various fields- providing insight into their research contributions, while offering percentile ranks for more precise evaluation.
Prof. John Ioannidis and his team from Stanford University, organized data using standardized metrics on citations, h-index, co-authorship-adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions, and a composite indicator. These metrics provide
an objective assessment of the contributions and influence of our linguistic faculty members.
Congratulations to our colleagues.
Best,
Kevin Tai
