Mapping the literature on translanguaging research: a bibliometric analysis

Dear Members of the SIG,

In a recent bibliometric analysis on Translanguaging research, published in the International Journal of Multilingualism (SSCI; Azad, 2025), several members of the SIG were identified as one of the top 10 authors in Translanguaging research, highlighting substantial contributions to the study of multilingualism and translanguaging. This includes Professor Li Wei, Professor Kevin W. H. Tai and Professor Zhongfeng Tian

The findings of the analysis highlight that "translanguaging is transitioning from a pedagogical tool to a comprehensive theoretical framework. Future research should explore underrepresented areas, such as translanguaging in digital environments and non-traditional educational settings."
