Rulebook and brackets have been updated and posted.
Rules written in red in the SVGVS Rule book are the Significant rule
changes for 2011 they include:

- Identifying a work team member as an Official and what his/her
primary responsibilities are.
- Makes it a fault to set the ball over the net in a flat or downward
trajectory.
- Removes point differential as a tie breaker.
- Clarifies procedure for an injured player during bracket play.

Please let me know if you find anything incorrect or contradictory. I
am but man and make mistakes...

Wait, does that say work team includes an OFFICIAL???
Yep that's right, you will be expected to be an official... that
includes blowing into a whistle. So unless you want to borrow one of
my germ infested whistles I suggest you get your own and keep it in
your vball gear bag. I also suggest you brush up on all the rules. If
you don't understand the rules as an official the players for that
match are NOT going to appreciate it.

WHAT?!? NO SETTING OVER THE NET?!? Hold on, you can set over the net
still, just not in a flat or downward trajectory. The only reason you
should be setting it over is to save a broken play, a free ball. You
still can't side set it over, you still have to be square and you
still can't back set it over. If you can't swing at a ball to get it
to a spot aggressively then its time to learn. Most of us can't set it
over aggressively without double contacting it anyway.

Also we will be stricter then ever this year on start times, being
late, etc. We will no longer rearrange the play schedule because you
or your partner slept in. If you are not there by check in, you will
be forfeited. If you went to get something to eat and miss the start
of your match... you lose a point per minute you are late.

Okay, enough of Mr Meanie and all his rules. I am really excited about
the first tournament next week, we will hopefully have our NEW SHIRTS,
NEW BALLS, and SV Parks and Leisure has agreed to let us use Veterans
Memorial again this year for MOST of our tournaments. There are a
couple that will be held at Soldiers creek. We will post those on the
schedule soon.

This is much longer then I intended it so I will stop typing now.
