Express-mates!
Wednesday August 17th will be the annual Alyssa Samansky Track
Challenge being held at Clovis West track. Field events (shot put,
discus, long jump) will start @ 5:30pm w/ the running events (50m kids
dash, 100m dash, 800m run, 1600m run, and 4x400 relay) will start @
6pm. Heats and actual start times of each event will be determined on
race day. There will be a BBQ with hamburgers and hot dogs available
for purchase for $5.
Alyssa is the daughter of Aaron and Andrea and the big sister to
Abigail and Audrey Samansky. She was tragically killed when she was
seven years old. To honor her and promote her loves of running and
reading, this track challenge was started with all proceeds going to
the Fresno Library and local track teams. Since Allysa would have been
13 years old this year, entry fees will be a suggested donation of $13
(pre-registered). Entry forms are available at Sierra Running Company
or from our website (
runsierra.com). Spread the word to everyone you
know. ANYONE can run at least one hundred meters, right?
