Just discovered Siena and I think it sounds great.

I was looking at the docs and I see that "The Google App Engine implementation only supports one primary key for each class, and also this primary key field must be of type long or java.lang.Long."

So, if I would like to be able to use Siena in the future, I should stop using String based keys in my GAE/J projects?  Is that correct?

Thanks,
Tom

Yes I don't maintain siena any more but contributors are welcome to lead the project further :)

About your question concerning gae, please test it with latest master, I think key strings should work but it's a bit far for me now so I won't swear it ;)

Siena is not supported because it's perfect as it is :-)

Joking, we've moved it to an organization called, guess what

Anybody who sends pull decent pull requests will automatically become a committer

String keys are supported on GAE, in fact I use them all the time:

  @Id(Generator.NONE)
  public String id;

Thanks for the replies.  Glad to hear that strings are supported on GAE.  Tom
