DORC Exec Committee Meeting 6-12-26

President Waldmann called the meeting to order at 8:05 pm

President Waldmann reminded members that the guest speaker for Mon June 15th meeting is David Nir

She gave kudos to Membership Chair Joann Olbrich for all her hard work to compile an accurate membership list.

President Waldmann mentioned that she is preparing the endorsement ballot for the meeting. She will ask members to put their ballot into a ballot box

The candidates on the ballot are only ones that have challengers in the primary

This includes Congress CD11,

NYS Comptroller and NYS senate 23rd district

President Waldmann mentioned that ballots will be given out and there will not be any discussion.

She plans to ask Paul Scublinsky and another person to count the ballots and provide results.

Teresa Halbrehder will send notification ro remind members about the meeting via email.

President Waldmann will be in touch with Joann regarding the up to date membership list 

Only club members in good standing will be allowed to vote.

Oct 1 Fundraiser 

President Waldmann told members she has reserved October 1, 2026 at the old Bermuda Inn. It's for the 250th Gala Celebration of the USA 

She will put deposit with venue.

The menu will depend on the number of guests attending.

Joe Sicilian will be reaching out to the DJ

Teresa has been discussing the event journal with Ronnie. They plan for spreads of 8 pages

Possibly size 8.5 x 5.5 with total of 32 pages.

There was discussion about putting up posters around the room. Some DORC Exec members will dress in period costumes

There will be more discussion about honorees with Ronnie 

Discussion about creation of nice awards

Centerpieces  Teresa mentioned putting Mum plants on tables

President WALDMANN  spoke about introducing honorees with some highlights from their bios.. After recepients receive award they will take photos

Joe suggested including a few executive Committee members on "stage" to assist Pres

Waldmann and to keep things going.

President Waldmann will act as Emcee with help from Exec members

A formal invitation will be created and sent to people by mail.

There was discussion about asking someone in NYS government to be keynote speaker.

There was discussion about figuring out costs and how much we aim to raise for event.

There was discussion about asking Rabs bowling alley to help with the awards for the recepients..  Joe S and others mentioned that 

Rabs is known for great work producing awards.

  

President Waldmann and other Exec Club members wished Liz Price a happy birthday and thanked her for giving up some of her evening to be at the Executive Committee meeting.

Paul S suggested checking Grand Sahara to hold future DORC meetings 

President Waldmann will check on it

The meeting was adjourned at 9:02 pm
