Hieverybody! It's been a while since I posted anything on a sims community. Glad to be back. :P

Anyway, when I tried doing a prosperity challenge, I used this website that would give you a totally random neighborhood each time you refreshed the page. I mean, number of families, names of people, skin tone, hair color, astrology sign- EVERYTHING. For such a lazy person who doesn't have dice in her posession like me, it was great.

I've searched through google, looked through the prosperity challenge LJ, and the tags here but I can't find anything like this randomizer thing. It's been a few years since I used that site, and I'm not sure if it even exists anymore. Does anybody remember seeing something like what I'm talking about?

Choose a name for your founder by using a random name generator. I like Namey because it generates a first name and surname (and you can choose common or rare names). Remember, you must take the first name generated. No rerolls!

No matter which option you choose, you must accept whatever you get without making any changes. Remember, part of the challenge is working with the random rolls you get. Challenge yourself to make it work. If you roll a very ugly Sim, you can make this a challenge to breed them until they make pretty offspring.

If you roll a regular career, use the Sim Blender or any other method you like to give your founder Sim their job. But this is only for your founder. Future generations must get a job from the newspaper or computer, the old-fashioned way.

If you use the No20khandout mod: Use the familyfunds cheat to give your spares $20k when they move out. The money does not come from the legacy family, and any money spares take with them should be returned to the legacy family using familyfunds.

Challenge generators can generate a random set of rules or conditions like the marital status of your sims, how many kids they have, their careers, generational goal, and miscellaneous fun (some rules that your sims must follow).

This challenge app is really handy if you want to have an option to manually choose the parameters you want to include in your randomization. Also, all the parameters have a detailed explanation of the rules.

As many of you know I've been at this challenge for 3 years now and I really love what has become of my save. Unfortunately you're also aware that my game is very temperamental. I've tried continuing a couple of times now and I cant get more than 2-3 days in-game progress done without numerous CTD after awhile and currently I can't even load the save. I've spent hours and hours trying to reorganize, merge, optimize, even start fresh on a new world and its getting very tiresome.

That all being said, I don't plan on stopping this blog, but with the release of the Sims 4 Horse Ranch expansion I've been thinking of restarting over there. I'll probably start a new blog just to separate the two. @sims-4-horse-legacy-challenge

Ms. Jasmine has also aged into her elder years (crazy!!). Just as Tyler she will still be showing, just not as often. Nick will be taking her main position and hopefully little Crystal will follow in his footsteps.

I realized its been a minute since I revisited the challenge rules (Nov 3rd 2020!). Here's the updated rules and guidelines of the challenge! Not too much has changed but I made a few balancing tweaks and added a few rules since playing.

Nick rode Drogon for his first few lessons and is starting to get the hang of things. Cole also put some more hours into Freya in hopes of breaking her, but no luck. The night ended with him being thrown and Freya tied to the post for the night. Finally, Denver was ridden by Jasmine who was ready to get into the saddle (again). They rode around the property and he did great!

The couple also took some time to pause the stress and remember they do in fact love each other first and family should come above the business. Thankfully the business has been taking care of them very well and they can afford to take the time to appreciate precious moments like these.

In his prime, Raphordy was an important part of our team, bringing in 20 titles and a whopping $263,000 (yes, that's correct!). He was loved by many and will be dearly missed. He was one of the last few horses rode by the great Tyler herself. His grave was brought to the new memorial gardens with the rest of his family.

Jasmine and Cole have been spending quality time with Nick, especially Jasmine. Unfortunately the horses have suffered because of it but they had a great show weekend and could use the break. They have been great parents so far!

Recently a stray tabby has been hanging around the place. We had the hopes of adopting it but unfortunately before we could do anything the reaper took him home. At least he left feeling loved, well fed, and rested.

? Here you'll find random color generators to boost your creativity through color themed challenges. Use these generators to spice up your builds or your fashion sense! You can also find below a random materials generator. Happy Simming!

I've been using a pedal generator for a few years now during the winter months, but this year decided to sign up with Zwift and see if I could integrate my pedal generator with Zwift. This Instructable will show how I tied my pedal generator and a charge controller to Zwift using an Arduino Nano 33 IoT. Zwift now controls the wattage (resistance) through the Arduino using the Bluetooth Low Energy Fitness Machine Service.

Some history first... I initially built the Zwift integration Arduino code using the Cycle Power Service, and was able to report the wattage to Zwift this way. A good first step, but was not the "full experience" of Zwift. I stumbled upon a blog post where Luke shows how to control a DPSxxxx controller using a modbus library with an Arduino. "Eureka!!!", I thought - this is how I can control the wattage. I bought a DPS5020 and reworked my code to use the BLE Cycle Power Service and the Fitness Machine Service, and actually had a working version that controlled the resistance while training on Zwift! Yay! A few days later as I was writing this up to share, I decided to make a video of it. As I started things up to make the video, Zwift had an update - (rut row Shaggy). Sure enough, the update broke my code.

Back to the drawing board - I dug around and found people suggesting that trying to do both Cycle Power and Fitness Machine services in one Bluetooth service was problematic. Fortunately in my stumbling around the internet, I found Kris' GitHub with the FTMS service already coded for Arduino, but with a different use case (retro fitting Zwift into a Tacx Flow ergotrainer). I refactored the code, integrating the DPSxxxx charge controller code I had used previously into the FMTS only BLE service and removing any of Kris's code that didn't fit my needs. Now I have a working Zwift pedal generator that automatically changes wattage resistance while in Zwift "erg" mode, and can also provide a more realistic ride in Zwift "sim" mode, adding resistance going up hills, reducing it while going down hill. Overriding sim mode is allowed as well, just manually change the amps to get 20 watts or more over the base and an OVERRIDE state will be triggered for the remainder of the ride. From there on, you manually change the resistance to whatever you choose - helpful if you want to challenge yourself on the sprints, or want to keep a specific pace on a group ride.

Putting this all together took many fits and starts, but I'm so excited to be able to fully experience Zwift on my pedal generator! A great big shout out to Luke and Kris for helping me get through some of the challenges!

You will need a pedal generator capable of 1.1x volts over the voltage needed to charge the batteries you are targeting. You can follow the design of my previous instructable Best Design DIY Bike Trainer Generator, but may need to change out the 320Kv motor to a lower Kv motor to produce higher voltage output like I show in this instructable. My daily driver pedal generator is a stationary bike turned pedal generator. Since I've covered those build details previously, I won't repeat them here.
