The Dillon BCS digital crane scale is a precision scale for a wide range of industrial weighing applications. The Dillon BCS is available in 3 ranges with capacities up to 10,000 lb / 5,000 kg. It features a swivel hook for easy and secure connections and an elongated upper shackle with space to accept large hooks.A large 1.4" (35mm) ultra-bright LCD display makes the BCS easy to read from far away. An optional remote control allows the operator to reset and change operating modes adding convenience and safety.
The available self-propelled lifts could not provide inspectors with access up and over the roof at this height. Transporting a crane with a birdcage to this remote location would have cost tens of thousands of dollars. Also, it would have been dangerous as the dirt road leading to the tower was precariously narrow, barely wide enough to squeeze a firetruck through vegetation.
Our operator smoothly maneuvered the giant 300-ft aerial lift to the tower and quickly lifted the maintenance crew up and over the roof. Having a full-time lift operator allowed easy access to its entire surface from a steady, stable basket, where the workers could solely and safely focus on the job at hand.
Great experience! First time on the 300 foot boom for a Local Law Facade Inspection. Vadim, the operator, was in complete control of the equipment and made the whole process smooth. It was a pleasure to work with Alpha Platforms, the crew was skilled and helpful, the equipment was top-notch. Our installers appreciated the security of the platform vs working off of a swing stage, it made their job easier and more efficient. From the first meeting thru to the end of the work day everything ran as smoothly as it could. We will definitely be partnering with Alpha Platforms on future projects. Thank you for your help!
I had an emergency project on a 140' high voltage tower and needed Alpha Platforms next day. They were so helpful and expedient walking me through the entire process so I was comfortable with the deal. They showed up to my site next day and cut about 2 days off of the project due to the safety, speed and efficiency of their lift and operators. I'll never rent or hire another lift company. I would recommend Alpha platforms for all your high reach needs.

We wanted to give it a try and see what this boom truck could do. We loved the idea of a wide basket that could reach up to 30 feet and get to the brick wall over the roof. The main reason we loved the truck was how it maneuvered the boom to lower the bricks inside a dumpster, which was located behind the truck. It saved us at least one extra day of work. It all went great.
The project was performed successfully, and we were really glad to have contactless means of reaching the building, as we all know that pipe scaffold might damage the structure, in this case, very very sensitive.
Many industries have projects and daily needs requiring many teams to work at heights. Window cleaning, faade inspections and repairs, renovations, construction, and many more niches require proper equipment for achieving excellent results. You may have the most skilled and experienced workers in the industry, but without high-quality equipment, you risk not meeting project deadlines and compromise people's safety. While rope descent systems, scaffolding, and simple JLGs may help workers do their jobs, spider lifts and truck-mounted aerial platforms can make their work much easier, safer, and profitable. Numerous high-rise buildings with hard-to-reach spots of up to 300 ft make it virtually impossible to complete many extreme heights projects without proper contactless equipment.
The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) promotes the safe and effective use of powered access equipment worldwide in the widest sense - through providing technical advice and information; through influencing and interpreting legislation and standards; and through safety initiatives and training programmes. IPAF is a not-for-profit organisation owned by its members, which include manufacturers, rental companies, distributors, contractors and users. IPAF members operate a majority of the MEWP rental fleet worldwide and manufacture about 85% of platforms on the market.
Most DSLR and SLR cameras can be triggered remotely using a release cable. Unfortunately the connectors used for the external release have rather exotic shapes. Below you will find the pinouts for the common camera types. The standardsolution consists of three wires: ground, focus and shutter. To focus the camerathe focus wire has to be connected to ground. To release the camera both wires have to be connected to ground.
All Canon EOS cameras are equipped with a remote release connector. There are two types of plugs. Refer to this article for more details on the electrical data of the external trigger ports. Most typescan be released by pulling down just the shutter wire.
Some of the Fujis have the standard 2.5mm jack socket to connect the microphone. This socket also serves as a shutter release socket. The wiring is compatiblewith Canon and Pentax (see above) and cheap remotes designed for these brands can be used. This DIY friendly connection exists in the models:
X-T1, X-T10, X-T20, X-E1, X-E2.
Cameras specified to work with the Fuijfilm RR-80 remote control can be controlled using a miniUSB plug and some additional circuitry. The male miniUSBplug is offered by bigger electronic component vendors.
The images below show the wiring of an adapter cable to the standard jack plug as needed by the SmaTrig for example.the cable.
The newer and more compact camera models use a connector similar to a micro-USB port but equipped with an additional row of contacts for extended functionality. In the image below you can see the front row and the standard USB contacts witha larger pitch in the background. The plug is about 3 mm longer than the standard micro-USB. Sony uses the same trick for their Multi interface shoe to make their own equipment and older flashes compatible.
This plug can be found in the Sony RM-VPR1 remote. It fits the models:
RX10, RX100ii, RX100iii, RX100iv,
ILCE 3000,
DSC-QX30,
DSC-HX400V,
A7, A7ii,
A5000, A6000,
SLT-A65, SLT58, etc
In the plug I analysed the ground was on the metal housing. Other sources specify the second pin as ground. The other pins have other functions like zooming, but need aspecial protocol.
