Reactivating the siddhi-user group for Siddhi user queries and discussions

Hello Everyone,

It is nice to meet you all virtually. As you can see, this mail is sent after a very long time. Apologies for that and thanks for being with this group for all this time. Let me give you a quick recap about the Siddhi project and siddhi-user google group.

Siddhi CEP project is started as a joint research project initiated by WSO2 and the University of Moratuwa (UOM) in 2010. We have used this mail group to discuss the design and architecture of the SIddhi project at that time. After that, the Siddhi project graduated as the top level project at WSO2 and it has been used as the core engine in various WSO2 products such as WSO2 Complex Event Processor, WSO2 Data Analytics Server and WSO2 Stream Processor for last few years (from 2012 to 2018), during this time Siddhi got matured and released its latest version 4.4.5. At WSO2 most of the design and architecture discussions related to Siddhi happened at dev at wso2.org and architecture at wso2.org mailing list. Siddhi CEP engine now serves many customers all over the world and we were able to see an active community evolving around it.

At WSO2, Siddhi project GitHub repositories are scattered in various places and the WSO2 mailing list also adds lots of noise from various other projects. Hence we decided to move Siddhi as a separate independent opensource project. We believe this will help the users and contributes to efficiently engage and grow the project much faster and make it better than what it was. To accomplish this, we are taking necessary efforts to get more and more external contributions toward the development and architecture of the project. As part of this effort, we are moving our dev discussions back to this google group (siddh...@googlegroups.com).
