The Craftivism for Gaza Blanket is made up of thousands of hand-crocheted squares, each representing 10 Palestinian children killed in Gaza since October 2023. As the reported death toll has risen, more squares have been added to the blanket.
Created by people across Ireland and beyond, it is a powerful act of remembrance and solidarity. Many contributors are unable to attend demonstrations themselves, so making a square allows them to take part in this peaceful collective memorial.
The blanket has become a powerful symbol at demonstrations across Ireland, including those organised by Health Care Workers for Palestine and other solidarity groups, making visible the human cost of the conflict in a way that statistics alone cannot.
