Hello there,

I'm from Brazil, and so we are organizing a study group to read and try to practive the exercises of the classical book SICP. One of our objectives is to translate the subtitles of the video lectures to brazilian portuguese.

I started a small repository at http://github.com/automata/sicp-subtitles. At en directory stays the english transcriptions (I've used the .srt file by your project) and the portuguese translation is at pt-br directory.

It's so difficult to transcribe to english being a non native speaker, so it's a slowly project. But I think we can work together to do that. How we can collaborate together?

Thanks so much!

Hi Vilson and others,

in January, I had translated the Lecture-1a.srt to german (see http://code.google.com/p/sicp-subtitles/issues/detail?id=6).
I had also noticed some differences between what Abelson was saying and what was in the english Lecture-1a.srt transcript and have changed that (see http://code.google.com/p/sicp-subtitles/issues/detail?id=7).

I forked your sicp-subtitles github repository and included the 2 above-mentioned patches.
Feel free to pull changes from http://github.com/yytomo/sicp-subtitles.
I'm a bit new to github, so please tell me if there's an easier way.

Best wishes,
Toni
