Hi, Rick.

What version of libevent does RPM install now?

Did you find the file for libevent-1.1a.so.1?

What directory is it in?

Is that directory listed in /etc/ld.so.conf?

Good luck with it!

Hi, Rick.

What version of libevent does RPM install now? Not sure, did a find and got a ton of hits.

Did you find the file for libevent-1.1a.so.1?  Yes it is a  link to a version 1.0.2

What directory is it in? /usr/lib64

Is that directory listed in /etc/ld.so.conf?  no, it has an 'include for ld.so.cond.d/*.conf'.  I added a sicortex.conf in that directory with an entry to
/usr/lib64.  Is that correct and/or complete?  I tried the yum install and still has the same result

I'm away for the weekend, but will be back Sun PM.

I haven't tried anything like what you're doing, but I found something that might be helpful:

Good luck with it.
