I just fired up scmutils in Windows; it was relatively painless:

1. Get and install MIT Scheme for Windows. I got it from:

http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/mit-scheme/snapshot.pkg/20060414/mit-scheme-20060414-ix86-win32.exe

2. Get a scmutils distribution and unpack it somewhere. I extracted it to
"c:\scmutils".

3. Fire up MIT Scheme and issue these commands: (See the earlier post on
this group by Jose A. Ortega Ruiz titled "Running scmutils in a
preinstalled MIT/GNU Scheme".)

(cd "c:\\scmutils\\scmutils\\src")
(load "compile.scm")
(load "load.scm")
(disk-save "mechanics.band" "SICM")

Remember that you have to press Ctrl-X E to evaluate each expression.
