Slightly off the topic of SICM, but I tried to read Gerald Jay Sussman
and Jack Wisdom's AI Memo on Functional Differential Geometry (Tobin
mentioned it here: http://groups.google.com/group/sicm/browse_thread/thread/133ccaf3167e007c),
but found that most of the functions didn't work in my installation of
scmutils. It turns out they've updated their Functional Differential
Geometry stuff. A new, and more extensive set of notes (using slightly
differently named functions -- I think that was the problem with
trying to get the AI Memo notes to work with the most recent version
of scmutils) can be found here (http://groups.csail.mit.edu/mac/users/
gjs/6946/calculus-indexed.pdf), on Sussman's SICM page (http://
groups.csail.mit.edu/mac/users/gjs/6946/index.html). Since I'm just
beginning to read it, I can't actually recommend it beyond the first
few pages (but those first few pages were quite good!).
