>From the Pro Wrestling Torch website:
Late last week, Konnan went in for surgery on his badly injured hip,
but doctors found kidney problems that could have been life-threatening
had they gone through with hip surgery. Konnan is now on kidney
dialysis and he issued an official statement on his health through his
Myspace page on Monday night. "I was supposed to get hip replacement
surgery last week in Mexico and when they went to operate discovered my
kidneys were badly damaged," Konnan wrote. "It could have been that
they were bruised or that I had an infection and my immune system did
not recognize it and let it attack my kidneys."
Konnan said he is currently going through dialysis to clean out the
infection is kidney to prepare him for hip surgery. He said the next
issue is that he needs a kidney transplant. "I am now on dialysis to
clean out my blood and so I can go back next week and get my hip
replacement surgery and my kidneys can be strong enough to get through
the operation," Konnan wrote. "But now I have another problem, I need a
kidney transplant." Konnan asked anyone with blood type O positive to
help.
