ENQUIRER EXCLUSIVE: FARRAH FAWCETT BATTLING DEADLY CANCER
TV legend Farrah Fawcett is battling cancer, The ENQUIRER has learned
exclusively.
Doctors discovered a malignant tumor in her lower intestine and blasted
it with radiation to shrink it, sources say.
After surgery to remove the deadly cancer, the 59-year-old former
"Charlie's Angels" star faces chemotherapy and more grueling radiation
treatments.
The devastating news came after Farrah's triumphant appearance August
27 at the Emmy Awards, when she unveiled a stunning new look during a
reunion with "Angels" co-stars Jaclyn Smith and Kate Jackson.
But it's brought her back together with longtime love Ryan O'Neal,
who's survived his own battle with leukemia.
"After Farrah got the diagnosis - cancer of the anus and lower
intestine - she was devastated. Everyone in the family cried for
days," a longtime family friend told The ENQUIRER.
"Then she snapped out of it and told Ryan, 'I'm going to beat this!'"

FAWCETT BEGINS CANCER BATTLE
October 13, 2006
LATEST: Actress FARRAH FAWCETT began chemotherapy treatment this week
in Los Angeles to battle a rareform of anal cancer. The former
CHARLIE'S ANGELS star went into hospital on Monday, accompanied by
former love RYAN O'NEAL, and left with a chemo pack attached to her
side later that day. The star was diagnosed with the disease on 29
September (06) - just over a month after she appeared with former
co-stars KATE JACKSON and JACLYN SMITH at the Emmy Awards. Fawcett
claims in the days following her appearance at the ceremony she became
fatigued and began to suspect something was seriously wrong. In
addition to her chemotherapy, she will also undergo five weeks of
radiation treatment for the disease, before deciding her next step.
Fawcett's close friend PAT VAN PATTEN tells American publication
People, "She has chosen to have the aggressive treatment. There is a
high curability for what she has. "They are going to shrink the tumour.
She's going to attack it. She said to tell you that she will be in a
weakened condition for a while and won't look good. But her spirits are
good." Friends and family have been quick to lend their support. Former
Angels Jackson and Smith, both of whom have beaten cancer, have rallied
beside her. When O'Neal was diagnosed with leukaemia in 2001, Fawcett
helped nurse him back to health and now he is returning the favour. He
says, "She's so strong. I love her. I love her all over again."

Fawcett Gets A Big Boost In Cancer Battle.
Former CHARLIE'S ANGELS star FARRAH FAWCETT is winning her battle with
cancer and will have one of two malignant growths cut away during
surgery later this month (JAN07).
The actress was diagnosed with anal cancer last year (06) but revealed
she is on the road to a full recovery last month (DEC06) after
completing radiation treatment.
And now the 1970s pin-up has been given great news - both her growths
have been drastically reduced and one can now be removed.
A source tells US tabloid the National Enquirer, "The combination of
chemo and radiation shrunk what were once two strawberry-sized
malignancies down to one the size of a gumball."
Farrah fears she could go blind

CANCER-STRICKEN Farrah Fawcett is facing another medical nightmare -
she must have surgery to stop her going blind.
The former Charlie's Angel began losing her sight after months of
painful chemotherapy for intestinal cancer.
The actress, who turns 60 on February 2, has been diagnosed as
suffering from pterygium - a condition that often strikes people who
spend a lot of time in the sun.
It leads to a thickening of the outer coating of the eye, which can
cause severe pain as it grows into the cornea.
Last night, a friend said: "At the beginning of January, she thought
she was suffering from a mild bout of 'pink eye'. There was some
minor irritation and she hoped it would go away.
"But her eyes became so full of gunk in the mornings they were
virtually sealed shut. Then she started getting blurred vision and
finally excruciating, burning pain in her eyeballs."
Specialists in Los Angeles, who have warned her to stay away from
sunlight, have told her the pterygium has been caused by sun exposure
at a time when her immune system was severely weakened by the effects
of chemotheraphy.
The former Seventies television star, who has been living at the Malibu
beach home of her old flame Ryan O'Neal, is due to have corrective
laser surgery.
Farrah's cancer battle has reunited her with the 65-year-old Love Story
star, with whom she lived for 17 years.
Her friend said: "She has been told there is an excellent chance it
will be completely successful and her eyesight will be fully
restored."
But Farrah, who contracted the eye condition after an intensive
six-week course of chemotherapy, also faces a further cancer-related
operation.
She is due to have an intestinal tumour removed within the next two
weeks and may even need a hysterectomy.
The friend added: "Although she has no cancer in her ovaries, her
doctors have told her that removing them will greatly reduce the risk
of it spreading there."
All through her ordeal, Fawcett has refused painkilling measures,
stoically telling family and friends: "I will beat this thing."
Last October, the Sunday Express revealed how she told actor Henry
Winkler and producer Michael Levitt that she was desperate to attend a
Charlie's Angels 30th anniversary party.
At the time, Levitt said: "Her bravery is astounding everyone.
She's a real trouper and is adamant the show must go on."
But Farrah became so sick, the end-of-year reunion had to be postponed.
The friend said: "She has been to hell and back with this. Ryan and
their son Redmond have been wonderfully supportive but there have been
times she's been in agony.
"The chemo has often left her terribly weak. Now, on top of that, she
has an eye
condition that could leave her blind."
