Jimmy Barnes to have open-heart surgery

ROCKER Jimmy Barnes is to undergo open-heart surgery to fix a condition
that has been with him since birth.
The former Cold Chisel frontman will undergo surgery to replace a
faulty aortic valve on February 22.
Barnes is said to otherwise be in good health and will honour all of
his commitments until he enters hospital on February 20.
He is expected to make a full recovery.
Michael Gudinski, the head of Liberation Music and long time friend,
said Barnes remains in great spirits.
"I'm sure like myself, his legion of fans will be wishing him a speedy
recovery," he said.
Mr Gudinski said Barnes has asked that his privacy be respected and
said he will not comment at this time.
