Dear all,

I have read your discussions in this emails. I sent you Tea Talk's brochure in file attached. Tea Talk is social enterprise and also is a social enterprise society cafe. I know that your aim is to know more about the social problems and the current situation of public welfare in Vietnam by site visits and panel discussion.
So we do appreciate your program, as you know, Tea Talk is social enterpriseThough we do not have a specific focus group of disadvantage people that we work with, Tea Talk is concerned with networking with existing social services that is out there so we can come along side and support their efforts.  We do not want to reinvent the wheel.  Besides, our unique strength at Tea Talk is to provide training on life skills, team building, etc.

On another hand, we are also very concerned about the mental health needs of many young persons in Hanoi.
They may not be all poor or needy in financial aspects, though some are, these young persons are struggling with finding meaning in life and a career path.
In one only my literature review, 49% of all those who attempted suicide are young persons aged 18 to 25 years old.
So Tea Talk's 2013 focus is on mental health issues and we want to train a group of young persons to provide Mental Health First Aid to their peers wherever they go.
Maybe Tea Talk can not help you are focus in your aim but we want to invite you to visit Tea Talk in Hanoi, and help to introduce you to the visit an orphanage - they also are non-government organization with a lot of  humanitarian activities for poor children in Hanoi. You can see more information from this link: https://www.hscv.org https://www.facebook.com/HSCV1?fref=ts)
Let me know your idea!
and I have one question for several groups of students from Peking university:
- how many people in your group?
- How long you will be in Vietnam?
- How many days you work in Hanoi?
Thank you so much!

This is Mark Pham, a friend of Michael Ong’s, that visited your cafe in May.

I am glad to have met you and wanted to introduce a student group visiting from Peking University.  Chen Xing is leading a group interested in meeting with college students and also learning about social welfare in Vietnam.  I suggested that they consider Tea Talk as a venue.

Is Tea Talk available for these type of arrangements?

Thank you.

Mark Pham

Dear 陈钘,

Thank you for the message.

Can you clarify if you are arriving in Hoi An or Hanoi?

Unfortunately, the schedule might be too short.  Typically, we receive these requests many months in advance and I do not believe we would be able to coordinate in one month.    We will unlikely be able to receive you at the office.

I do recommend Tea Talk, an NGO that runs a café and also works with many local university students in Hanoi.  They do great work and I think their café would be a great place for exchange.  Perhaps if you host a networking event there, they may be able to invite some students and I can ask some staff from East Meets West to join if they are available.

I can introduce you to the manager at Tea Talk if needed.

I hope this is helpful.  Please tell me if there is any other way I can be of assistance.

Best of luck.

Regard,

Mark Pham

Dear Sir,

We are so excited to know that you are interested in our program, as it is our first year, we've been working so hard trying to build cooperation with NGOs, Charities and first-class universities in Vietnam. As we mentioned in the earlier e-mail, we would love to boost the mutual understanding between us young adults through this program in the long run.

We've acquired that East Meets West Foundationis centered on transforming health, education and communities of disadvantaged people in Asia by building partnerships, developing opportunities and creating  sustainable solutions.

Therefore we would love to gain a more overall understanding of your efforts through site visits and talks to make our field research more convincing and meaningful. For your information, our actual arrival inHoi Anis around 7.8-7.13, we would really appreciate that if you had time to receive our team at any day among that period of time.

You may refer to the attachment of our proposal to know more details about our program.

Thanks a million. Looking forward to your reply.

Yours, Sincerely
