Hey my dears,
I thought it was quite lovely to be able to do that SI'ntrospeCtive in thing yesterday with you all. Here's a quick reflection.
But first here's a GIF recommendation for the meeting minutes:
Anyways, I've always thought that student leadership is a funny and fickle beast because you show up to your organization as a frothmjuiosenior and know mostly nothing at first. And then! If you are at the right place at the right time with an enthusiastic spirit and some competence, you become the leader. With my interests largely inchoate, I sprinted through the freshman year gates looking for a whole bunch of races to run. (I mostly lost and broke my back/ass in the mad scramble process, and like, how did I end up in the Environmental Consulting Club and the Stem Cell Society and on the listervs for CSA, OutingClub, HUCA, HAPA, and EWB?)
However, I would like to say that SIC has always been a bit different as an extracurricular, and I never formally sent out my apology for my lack of
presence this semester (be that physically, emotionally, statistically). It's events like the Summit that remind me of our legacy as an organization because the passion of the founding team and their presence is still so near....and it's beautiful...the Kara, Willa, Smithas who COME BACK the year RIGHT AFTER they graduated to attend an ALL-DAY summit. (Gotta get them their LinkedIn group and newsletter ASAP.)
Anyways, we've got a dang cool club. And we have a dang cool mixer this coming Friday. Love these new members...love ya'll. I hope you all don't find this touchy feely. (That type of business is for the rager this Friday.) See you at the SIC Party! And see you, Manik* tonight at 7:00 in Mather?
Mwah,
Li
*plzrespond I didn't put it in my gcal and don't remember when/where the Synergy thing is
