Hey y'all,

Magen, Konrad, Nick and I met and went over the case challenge, caught up on research and chatted about ideas and solutions for about an hour.

For our call on Sunday, we think an achievable goal would be to decide as a group on a problem area to work in (unless someone as an uber awesome idea right now!).

So please, before the next meeting, lets each pick 3 problem areas that are compelling (ex: political instability) and keep brainstorming ideas.

Also, we think it would be good to get a sense of what types of NGOs are operating out there (ex: do most focus on nutrition? Education?). This could be relevant and will help later when we look for partners. Could whomever looked up NGOs originally check this out?

Thanks,
Stephanie

Hi team

Sorry about missing the phone call last night!  ...I had a fun and adventurous trip to the hospital with a dear friend in the evening. Maybe story time in NY when we meet!

NGO research fell to me- I'll do what I can looking up NGO's- but I'm not exactly sure what the best way to search + sift through the thousands of them would be in an efficient way.  I could use some back-up on this assignemnt.  I've got 4 hours dedicated to it today, and another 8 before Sunday.  I'm certain we'll find a few!

I can help with NGO if you let me know the website to look.

From talking to my business class friend Christi, I got two ideas
"Here's a development framework we're using in a project in the US, and it may be a unique approach to consider using in your project:

http://wealthworks.org/framework.html

Our project focus has been rural America, but the idea of developing based on value-chains is transferable to anywhere. It focuses on agricultural, forestry, and renewable energy value chains, so might give you some ideas about identifying the right value chain opportunities.

Here is more detail about the project: http://www.creatingruralwealth.org/ "

It may be simpler to look up relevant NGOs after we've decided on a problem area. That would narrow down our search.
