8:45 a.m. JULY 1, 2019-the date and time for which I've been awaiting, with ever building pressure and need. Since I know that so many have been praying with me in that wait, it seemed a good idea to use Siawi Snippets to let you know your prayers have been answered.
Oh, are you having trouble remembering just what it was you were praying about? Maybe you need more information. Okay, okay, I'll quit messing with your head and tell you: July 1 at 8:45 a.m. I am schedule to see Dr. Perez to set up a time and day to have cataract surgery on my left eye. After having been unavailable for 6 months or more, he is now seeing patients on a part time basis.
The ever building pressure was caused by the rapid growth of the cataract in the left eye over just the last 3 months. When I saw my optometrist, Dr. Peterson, this morning, she was really surprised at how much it had grown since she last saw me. It had been obvious to me, since the vision loss had started impacting day to day activities. I had reached the point where I knew I couldn't put it off, and if Dr. Perez wasn't available, I was going to have to take whoever else could deal with it.
Because of the special complications involved with my eyes-evidently my left eye has received all of my argumentative bullheaded tendencies and doesn't play well with the right, specialized treatment will be necessary. Dr. Perez understands that problem and has devised a plan to try to make sure the left eye ends up top dog, so that I don't end up with double vision. And yes, I would really appreciate any and all prayers regarding that subject, since as a read-aholic, I can't imagine not being able to comfortably spend an hour or two every day immersed in a book. Okay, okay, I need my vision to be able to work on the Siawi Bible lessons, too. (And that is a lot more spiritual.)
Seriously, I do so much appreciate your standing with me in prayer through all of this. The Lord knows just what His plans are for me, and I know I'm safe in His hands-even if not always comfortable. He has brought Dr. Perez back just when I needed his surgical care, and I trust He'll provide the final result that is best for His glory and honor.
