[cid:image0...@01D564E0.38085620]Only 21 pages, but the revised Siawi Bible lessons for Revelation 1-5 are being printed and will hopefully be flown into Siawi on September 11, PNG time (the 10th in the USA). When I heard that there was a flight planned for that day, it seemed like a wise move to send them a sample of what I've been able to produce thus far, so that they can evaluate whether this will even be a help to them or not.
Please do be praying for the Bible teachers as they peruse these lessons and consider them. They will also be receiving on that flight a book on the end times written in Melanesian Pidgin (the trade language) by another Ethnos360 missionary. They may decide that that book provides enough help, so that the original Revelation lessons won't need to be proof-read and revised.
It will be the loaner shortwave radio that is in Siawi that will provide the communication availability, as the teachers will be able to call out to chat with one of our support missionaries in Wewak, who can then pass on to me their evaluation of the material.
Now that hurricane Dorian has finally regrouped after devastating the Bahamas and moved on up the eastern coastline to rack havoc in other areas, I wanted to give you an update on that, too. Thankfully, for those of us interior on the Floridian peninsula, Dorian didn't really cause any major problems. There were a few short power outages, but with all the power company vehicles set to handle a much more major hit, minor problems were quickly repaired.
Today, I completed restoration of everything back to its proper place inside and out, where all can await any further hurricane threat this season. It was great not to have to use those supplies, but just have the "practice run." Thanks for praying.
Interestingly, the expected call for computer help with updating connections to our mission network haven't materialized. Whether that is because others have met the need or (more likely) because folks are putting off doing anything until the last minute, when they get cut off entirely, because they've not made said changes, I don't know. Knowing human nature, especially when the human isn't happy with new technology anyway, I'm suspecting the latter reason; but whichever it is, it means fewer responsibilities for me right now.
That's okay-it seems like my day to day living manages to fill up my time quite well. I suspect it is because, like a woman with a certain amount of kitchen cabinet space-no matter how much space, it gets filled, in the same way, said woman with so many hours of "free time" a day will be quite able and certain to fill them.
Thank you so much for your prayers and continued help and support, through prayers, finances, and encouragement! The Siawi folks and I count on that help and are so blessed by it.
With love and appreciation,
Linda
