Well, I guess my excuse for not sending any emails is gone now at least the one I've been using now for the last I don't know how long I guess month. Before that it was lack of motivation, lack of news, and like of consideration of the wonderful people that are standing behind me and the CLE people and upholding us.

First let's get to the reason that I'm using now, which is the fact that June 30 I wrecked my three wheeled bike and took a bash to the head, broke my left olecranon bone-which is at the end of the ulna the part that goes into the humerus forming the elbow, and my collarbone. That has left me with complications for trying to write emails or anything on the computer, because of the lack of really good dictation programs, at least ones that are within my price range. Today I finally decided that it was worth the money, and I found one that will work well for me for $200, so I have purchased it and now I'm trying to tame it into writing what I am actually saying and not what it thinks I have said. So far that's going okay, well except for the fact that when I tell it to delete it is now deleting whole sentences instead of the one word that I wanted to delete. But that is just learning how to say the right thing.

Surprisingly, at least to me, was the fact that the injuries and healing from them sapped to me a lot more than I expected it to. Thankfully I experienced very little pain, but it did leave me with absolutely no energy to do anything. I'm expecting later this week to get the final sling off of my arm and start occupational therapy to get the use back of my elbow and hand.

The surgery to reconnect the end of the owner to the bone so that it would work in the elbow happened on July 14, and that first night at home was pretty rough. But I was awake at 2:30 AM when the phone rang with a call from Papua New Guinea. Amazed that a missionary in Papua New Guinea would mistakenly call in the middle of the night, as he shared why he had called, I understood the enthusiasm that caused him to fail to take into consideration the fact that I would normally be sound asleep. But because I wasn't able to sleep because of discomfort with my arm and other factors, by the Lord's grace, I was actually awake when the phone rang, and so I told him to go ahead and share please. He had just flown out from Siawi, having been in there for a youth conference that was held in our village. And he was excited for the way that the meeting had gone and the fact that as many girls as guys actually attended the conference. And that's a huge thing in PNG culture. For the most part the women are pretty shoved to the background, so I was very pleased to hear that the gals were also at that meeting. And he was sharing how that as they were having the conference, some of the guys that had been working on the road for the logging company that runs through Siawi actually came to the meetings a few times. And he was witnessing to them and sharing with them to about Christ and the Siawi elders said, "Can you share with them about the Lord?” And he assured them that yes these guys were unsaved and if you are a believer you have something to share with them. That was a pretty exciting idea for the Siawi people. While there weren't a large number of the young people who at least professed to be touched by the lessons and the need to really clean up their lives, and clean out the pornography, the drugs, and alcohol that had been infiltrating their lives, there were some for whom God's word really worked deeply in their hearts. So I'm just asking for you to be really praying for these folks praying that the Lord will enable them to stand and live lives before the lost that will shine forth the light of God's truth.

Sadly, even though I was going to include here a picture that I received from that missionary of the conference and the Siawi folks who attended, I can't do so because it has disappeared on my computer. I'm not sure where it went but at least my one-handed searching now is not turned it up. It should be somewhere at least in the trash if nowhere else but I can't include it. And that's nothing new since you folks are used to my not being faithful to include interesting pictures and such with my updates.

I really did want to get this one out though since I have been so long without telling you how much I appreciate you and what your support through prayers and finances has meant to me. The Lord has graciously provided the funds that I need day by day even with added expenses right now, and I am doing well. I would like to send a thank you note every single one of you that praise and those that the Lord has enabled to give financially, to let you know how important you are to me and to the Siawi ministry. But that's not going to happen at least not right now and it's time for me to file away… I guess the last six months voucher reports that have been sitting in my inbox, waiting for me to write thank you notes to you. I know now that it is definitely not going to happen anytime soon. Please forgive me for my slackness in that area, you have been so faithful and I have been so unfaithful in that area. I will try to do better, though you probably never get nice pretty updates like I gets from some others that are so enjoyable to read and to see the pictures to really clarify what they're saying I'm not sure whether it's a case of teaching old dogs new tricks are just lazy old dogs.

With that, I think it's probably time just to get this email shot off to you so that you actually get at least this much information. Please do know that I love and appreciate you!

Together in His service,

Linda
