I freaking loved this show when it was on & I still do. In fact, seeing it show up on my Netflix search is the reason I decided to get a subscription. I hate that there are missing episodes. So mad. I will have to head to Amazon to purchase the series on DVD.
Thanks for this list! As I am watching the missing episodes on youtube, I am noting these episodes all have cast members singing parts of songs as part of the plot. Very difficult to fix I imagine without butchering the scenes. The rest of the episodes are now on Hulu instead of Netflix, btw.
Go to CBS.com under TV classics and there are always a few Wings episodes available free - you don't have to get the CBS All Access trial. It's not much, but at least it's something that will give you your Wings fix.
Nope Netflix dropped wings and coach however you can still watch wings on huluplus I'm re watching and coinsedently I'm in bed watching lol.. Same eps are missing but at least we can watch most! Still sad about Coach tho ?
I loved Wings back in the 90's! I think it's one of the most underrated shows of all time. The chemistry between the characters was excellent. I want to buy the entire series on DVD but it hasn't been updated and the set doesn't include any extras of any kind. I wish they would update it to Blueray maybe do some interviews with cast members etc.
Thanks for the info! I'm watching Wings on Prime right now and realized there were missing episodes after watching the high school reunion ep when the lady Brian was seeing told Joe that her kid might be his and then it was not continued in the next ep I watched!
I thought I was only one who watched these to go to sleep; funny, looks like Im not alone. I agree, very underrated TV show and they tie in with each other across seasons. One of my favorite episodes was the Clint Black guest star, found this post and explains why it is not on HULU. Didnt realize so many were missing.
@anonymous Edgy? Talking opening about sex? Wings barely talked about sex, and certainly no more than other shows of the time. Hell, Cheers had a main character talking about sex in 1982. Also, a gay character in a sitcom episode? M*A*S*H did that in 1974.
Wings was extremely MOR and safe. It didn't push a single boundary. It wasn't that kind of show.
So as most of you know (at least the ones that are re-watching Sliders on Netflix), "Last Days" and "The Weaker Sex" are missing. I decided to talk to someone in customer service. This is what she said:
"Yep you are totally right, those episodes are missing from the Season 1! I have checked the official list and they are not in the catalog, I really appreciate you have reached us about this, I will report this to my team right away so they can look it up and add the missing ones as soon as possible"
It would be interesting if they're missing only due to some overlooked error that no ones ever pointed out. I remember those episodes used to be grayed out but in recent times they're simple not there at all.
Maybe it's just me -- but I fail to see how missing episodes on Hulu and Netflix could truly prevent any of us from watching them anyway. I mean, we're SLIDERS fans, for God's sake. We may as well have invented the Internet when it comes to TV shows.
Let's see, reason one, traveling and Netflix fills the need to not carry discs. Reason two, they are packed in a box in storage, because you are inbetween dwellings. Reason three, housesitting and bored, so again you turn to Netflix. Reason four, you are at a friend's house and they look at you strange and ask what is a Slider, and you go to Netflix to introduce them to a great show. I could continue, but won't.
On BTW Netflix is great to introduce friends and family to all kinds of shows, Doctor Who, Walking Dead, Flash, Arrow, Shield, FireFly, etc. I was just recommending Sliders to a group of writers at GenCon, who didn't know there had been a dimension traveling adventure show. Hopefully, I created more Sliders fans. If nothing else I gave them a good place for researching that subject.
Netflix has been great about fixing things in the past on other shows if they get a few calls. I had them fix a show called Highlander got it back on there a couple times. I'm going to call them about the episodes also to try to help out. I know I'm new here first response sorry if it's rude of me. Having the show on Netflix helps people like me I move a lot often living out of hotels every 2 years. I watch Netflix and my 13 year old son is a new sliders fan. I was fan from the start mostly first seasons anyway. The other posts are correct lots of people have crazy activity lives where they can't keep a lot of things with them.
One of the best episodes of the show Community was removed from netflix for featuring blackface. However, like mentioned in the scene, the blackface wasn't used to be racist. The characters are playing Dungeons and Dragons, the character using blackface is dressing up as a Dark Elf.
Blackface was barely in the episode. Netflix took down the whole episode due the black lives matter protests happening currently. They have taken down numerous other episodes however this is very different for a number of reasons.
Racism is still a big problem and blackface should not be tolerated but the episode has set a proper context that shows its disagreement with the use of blackface. The removal of the whole episode leaves a major gap in the overall story, and thus ruins the experience for fans and viewers.
Aside from featuring that scene, this episode is one of the best, if not the best episode for many people. Its deals with themes such as suicide and bullying that is important for people to know, don't give up, it gets better. This episode is so important that some episodes and even the rest of the series is ruined if someone doesn't see it.
I'm not 100% sure but, this was also the case when HULU had the show. I think it's because those episodes have music on them. That would require paying a music license fee. I think one of the Hawaii episodes was missing. Few others. forget which.
If there's anything else we can be of assistance with, please don't hesitate to let us know. We'd be more than willing to listen and take appropriate action as your satisfaction and convenience are what we always aim for.
Since I am in the middle of binge-watching The Brady Bunch this weekend, I realized the same thing you did, so I looked it up. It said that this happened with Hulu as well, and this was due to CBS owning The Brady Bunch and not allowing them rights to all episodes(which is stupid in itself, the show is 50 years old. What are you saving it for??) Anyway, what is really baffling is that CBS OWNS PARAMOUNT PLUS, so why couldn't CBS give permission for all the episodes to appear on their own subsidiary company's app when THEY OWN THE RIGHTS?? I saw a post from Reddit where an actual Paramount Plus representative answers and states that they were not aware of it, and thanks the person that began the thread, promising they will look into it and, now that it has been brought to their attention, the missing episodes will appear shortly(that was posted in January and it is March now. Big surprise). So, they don't have just one employee there making sure all the episodes make it on the Paramount app?? They just wing it? How in the world could they 'not be aware' of what episodes are on their own app? Incidentally, the episode I was looking for was Season 4, Episode 23, "A Room at the Top", where Marcia and Greg argue about the attic room. This morning I was watching Season 2, and in the one where Mike gives Greg his office as a bedroom, Mike is in bed with Carol (engaging in one of their 'bed talks'), and Carol asks why not give Greg a room in the attic? Mike replies, "Greg would have to be 2 1/2 feet tall to live up there"(not a direct quote!), therefore I wanted to verify that the attic wars actually DID happen and my 50-year-old brain(yes, I am as old as the show. Shut up.) is still OK! Btw, might I add that I cannot believe how stupid and dependent on Mike they make Carol seem! For one, why would Mike have to explain to her that Greg couldn't live up there because the height of the ceiling only reaches Greg's groin area? Has she not been in her own attic? If you watch The Brady Bunch for awhile you notice things you wouldn't if you were just watching it one episode at a time over a longer period. I have really realized that Mike talks to Carol like he talks to the children! He is always making comments about how she needs him in order to make even the slightest decision yet, he once made an offer on a new house and put their home up for sale and her with it and didn't even bother to give her a call!! He SURPRISED her with it when he got home from work! Lol! Sorry for the rant/ramble, if anyone takes the time to read this I would LOVE to hear your opinion on all of this, especially the main topic, which is the missing episodes! Blessings to all!
The It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia missing episodes were all pulled for the same reason. It's not all that shocking to find the often controversial It's Always Sunny facing this issue. After all, the "Dee Day" Always Sunny episode only further proves that the series is about a bunch of out-of-touch narcissists running a bar in Philadelphia; it's not supposed to be tasteful. However, the Always Sunny blackface episodes definitely pushed the limit and brought a lot of heat showrunners' way.
