The Sanger Learning Center at the University of Texas at Austin is hiring a Program Administrator for our Academic Counseling and Tutorial Services team. Job Description:

Directs Academic Counseling and Tutorial Services team for the Sanger Learning Center. Duties including staffing, training, marketing, and evaluation. Supervises a team of two full-time staff and oversees supervision of approximately 200 student employees.

General Notes

Due to COVID, this position is currently working 100% remote. All applicants should be able to work successfully from home during this time.

Responsibilities

    • Coordinates the administration of all of the component areas of Academic Counseling and Tutorial Services (ACTS), including appointment tutoring, drop-in tutoring, peer academic coaching, and academic counseling. Plans programs and services responsibly within budgetary constraints. Oversees hiring, training, evaluation, and program growth/improvement.
    • Supervises ACTS professional staff members in setting and achieving program goals. Supervises student employees as needed.
    • Builds relationships and acts as advocate of ACTS programs with appropriate UT administrators, faculty, and staff; serves as liaison to colleges and departments.
    • Initiates and facilitates initiatives that enhance the quality and efficiency of ACTS services. Works with the Director and the School of Undergraduate Studies WebDev team to explore and implement new learning technologies.
    • Provides direct service to students: teaches Sanger Learning Center workshops and/or provides academic counseling.

Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree
    • 2+ years experience supervising professional staff in a learning center or related environment
    • 3+ years experience supervising student staff in a learning center or related environment
    • Proven ability to build relationships with faculty and campus partners
    • Experience with program evaluation for continuous improvement
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

    • Master's degree
    • 5+ years experience supervising professional staff in a learning center or related environment
    • 5+ years experience supervising student staff in a learning center or related environment
    • Experience implementing new technologies for learning
    • Classroom teaching experience
    • Experience implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
