Hello ICSI listserv members,
I am writing to inform you about two roles, an Academic Services Administrator for Peer Tutoring role and the Director role, that the University of Cincinnati Learning Commons is hiring for. Here is more information:
The University of Cincinnati Learning Commons is hiring an Academic Services Administrator for Peer Tutoring! Characterized by flexibility in modality, scheduling, and course offerings, the Peer Tutoring program develops and empowers students as independent learners through one-on-one engagement in foundational course content with peers as model students and supporters.
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Content Supports, this position will oversee the Peer Tutoring program. The Learning Commons offers tutoring in more than 300 undergraduate courses including subjects such as math, science, languages, and business through in-person and online services. This position also works directly with Student Athlete Support Services to provide regular in-house tutoring for student athletes. This position supervises a Peer Tutoring Graduate Assistant, a team of 5-6 Peer Tutoring undergraduate Coordinators (student leadership roles), along with the 50-70 Peer Tutors. Within the Learning Commons, this position is heavily involved in initiatives related to one-on-one student support, student-athlete support, distance education, and regional campus student support.
If you enjoy mentoring high-achieving academically-motivated peer mentors and making program-level decisions to impact students in diverse courses and programs at UC, this position is for you. The posting can be found online. If you have any questions about the Peer Tutoring Academic Services Administrator position, please reach out to Alaina Peters at pete...@ucmail.uc.edu.
Additionally, we are still open to applicants for our Director role. Under the supervision of the Assistant Vice Provost for Faculty Advancement and Undergraduate Affairs, the selected candidate will direct unit initiatives in collaboration with the leadership team, campus stakeholders, the Learning Commons Advisory Council, and critical partners in the Office of the Provost. In support of the broader goals and vision of campus and Undergraduate Affairs, the Director of the Learning Commons contributes to leadership within the division of Undergraduate Affairs. This includes identifying and implementing strategic collaboration across units such as the Faculty Enrichment Center and the Center of the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (CET&L), as well as partners such as the College of Cooperative Education and Professional Studies (CCPS), relevant academic departments, and other units and departments across campus. The posting can be found on UC’s Job Application site. If you have any questions about the Director position, please reach out to Bryan Smith at sm...@ucmail.uc.edu.
